My approach

Holistic, trauma-informed, and shaped around you

Everyone's needs are different, so I look at all the pieces of the puzzle and tailor how we work together. These are the approaches I draw on most.

Mindfulness

Learning to notice thoughts and feelings with curiosity, so they have less hold over you.

Compassionate Inquiry

Gently exploring the beliefs and early experiences that sit underneath present-day struggles.

Narrative Therapy

Separating you from the problem and reshaping the stories you tell about your life.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Practical tools for spotting and shifting the thought patterns that feed anxiety and low mood.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Making room for difficult feelings while moving toward what matters most to you.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Helping couples and families understand the patterns between them and rebuild connection.

About me

Hi, I'm Carolyn

"I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable, so we can work together on whatever you're struggling with."

I have been a Social Worker and Therapist in the Niagara Region for over 20 years, and I absolutely love what I do. My approach is holistic and trauma-informed, and I tailor it to each person, couple or family I work with.

I live in Niagara with my family. I'm a proud gymnastics and volleyball mom, and I'm always trying to get my two teenagers to hang out with me. You'll also find me running with my dog Arnie, lost in a good book, or up north in the summer.
